Long Term Care
Long Term Care facilities provide a wide range of personal support, physical, social and mental health services to individuals who require a high level of assistance. Facilities are designed for individuals who are no longer able to live independently in their own homes or with family, and require on-site supervision in a safe setting.
Long Term Care facilities provide 24-hour availability of professional care and high levels of personal care. Services in long-term care facilities include meals, laundry services, housekeeping, social and recreational programs, medication administration, and assistance with activities of daily living. In order to provide this specialized service, long term care facilities are staffed with a range of professionals from registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, resident care attendants, as well as personnel in laundry, kitchen, recreation, maintenance and administration.
