Health Care Service Complaints
In the NWT, health and social services is delivered by eight Authorities. In addition, there are non-government organizations and private professionals (including dentists) who provide services privately and through agreements with the Department and/or Authorities.
Complaints or concerns against a regulated health professional can be dealt
with in a number of ways. We encourage you to first speak with the health
professional who provided your care. If you are uncomfortable raising your
concerns with the health professional, then you can direct them the HSS
Authority responsible for the facility.
If your concerns are not addressed to your satisfaction, please direct your
complaint as follows:
If your complaint is about a registered nurse or nurse practitioner, contact the Registered Nurses of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut (RNANT/NU). The RNANT/NU is responsible for handling and investigating such complaints. For more information, contact:
