Eligibility

To be eligible for the Métis Health Benefits Program, clients must be:

• a resident of the NWT and registered under the NWT Health Care Plan;
• a descendent of the Chipewyan, Slavey, Gwich'in, Dogrib, Hare or Cree people; and
• resided in or used and occupied the Mackenzie Basin on or before January 1, 1921, or is a Community Acceptance Member, or was adopted as a minor.
