2011 Walk In Flu Clinics

October to April is Flu Season. The best protection is an annual flu shot.

People at high risk for influenza-related complications who should take the flu shot are:

children between 6 months to 5 years of age
pregnant women
adults 65 and older
individuals who are extremely overweight
individuals living in chronic care facilities, regardless of age
individuals with chronic medical conditions such as lung disease including asthma, heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease or cancer.

In addition, people capable of passing the flu on to these high risk individuals should also get the flu shot. This includes:

health care workers
close household contacts living with individuals who have chronic disease
families with infants less than 6 months of age or those expecting a newborn
individuals who provide childcare on a regular basis to children less than 24 months of age
individuals who work in closed settings with people at high risk

The vaccine is provided free of charge. No appointment is necessary at the following public clinics:

Immunizations will be given at the health centre on October 27th, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Immunizations are given at the health centre every Monday from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
