Food Safety
Environmental Health Inspectors protect the public by making sure that food is kept safe from possible contamination and is prepared and stored properly. They inspect restaurants and other public food establishments (i.e. catering facilities, mobile vending carts, take-outs and temporary food events at public festivals) on a routine and a complaint basis.
Anyone wishing to prepare and sell food to the public must apply for a food service establishment permit before opening.
