AIDS Community Action Program (ACAP)
AIDS Community Action Program (ACAP) is a component of the Canadian Strategy on HIV/AIDS, the federal government’s framework to respond to AIDS in Canada. ACAP aims at:
- preventing the spread of HIV;
- ensuring treatment, care and support for people living with HIV and AIDS, their caregivers, families and friends;
- minimizing the adverse impact of HIV/AIDS on individuals and communities; and
- minimizing the impact of social and economic factors that increase individual and collective risk for HIV infection.
