Hepatitis B Grade 4 Immunization Program
(Interim NWT Catch-Up Program)
A catch-up program for Hepatitis B began in 1995 for the grade 4 students. This program will end in 2005, when most of the incoming grade 4 students will already by protected as a result of the infant immunization program.
The grade 4 Hepatitis B immunization program involves a series of injections given by a health nurse at the child's school. With the parent's/guardian's permission, the child will receive 3 separate injections over a 6-month period during the school year.
