Fort Smith is the southernmost community in the Northwest Territories, lying on the NWT-Alberta border. The Fort Smith Health and Social Services Authority administers a range of community health and social services.
The Fort Smith Authority is composed of six members, plus a chairperson. The Town of Fort Smith, Salt River First Nations and Métis Nation Local 50 each have two representatives on the board.
