Ministry Branch

The Ministry Branch includes the following:

Directorate – provides overall leadership to the Department under the guidance of the Deputy Minister and members of the Senior Management Committee. This committee provides overall strategic and management direction for the Department, and coordinates the Department's participation in Federal/Provincial/Territorial initiatives.

Policy, Planning and Evaluation Division – provides leadership and services in policy, legislation, professional licensing, intergovernmental affairs, and self-government. In addition, this division coordinates the preparation of briefing materials for the Minister.

Planning and Communications – ensures that the public is informed about Department policies, activities, initiatives and programs and services. This unit takes into account the concerns and views of the public, when establishing priorities and implementing programs. In addition, it ensures that the Department is visible, accessible and answerable to the public that it serves, and presents a consistent and positive corporate image of the Department. This unit is also responsible for official languages within the Department.

Financial Management Division – provides budgetary, accounting, planning and financial services to the Department. These services including providing advice to senior management and Authorities on financial management, financial control; financial planning, capital planning and system design and planning..
