A community health representatives (CHR) performs a broad range of duties in the community to help prevent illness and promote good health.
Responsibilities include:
acting as liaison and co-ordinator for the community health committee council, residents and nursing staff;
providing people with information about child care, nutrition, sanitation, communicable diseases and other health matters;
making home visits to teach and demonstrate family health care and referring medical health problems to the health professional; and
selecting, ordering and preparing health education materials for local use.
